County Agent C L Benson submitted to The Eagle sample heads from Jim Kurten’s 10 acre sorghum field. Kurten, son of Henry Kurten of Kurten, is entered in the Bryan Chamber of Commerce agricultural prize contest for feed crops. The field includes milo maize kafir chicken corn Darso and hygiera with high quality stands. The new chicken corn variety resembles broom corn but with shorter brush, promising good poultry feed and may be sown next year.
