Pioneer Citizen of Anderson Dies After Long Illness

Colonel W. W. Meacham aged 82, prominent Anderson lawyer, died at 3:00 am after a several months illness. Born in 1844 in North Carolina, he served in the Civil War then moved to Plantersville and finally settled in Anderson for nearly six decades. Funeral at 5 pm Thursday in Anderson with J. R. Howell attending.

Solomons Visit Bryan From Lufkin Vicinity

Dr. E W Solomon and wife Mrs E W Solomon and son Hal of Lufkin are in Bryan visiting W W Solomon and family. They traveled by car and despite his age of over 75 Dr Solomon rose early to go fishing at Carlos Lake. He formerly served as pastor of the First Methodist church in Bryan about seven or eight years ago.
