Campaign Volunteers Aiming At Bristol Room In New Chaffee Home

Bristol and Little Compton become first towns in Rhode Island to back the Chaffee Home fundraising drive with a $700000 facility room gift. Local volunteers including Mrs George Ingram and Mrs Vernon Gray begin outreach with a Providence meeting set for Monday as the non profit cancer care facility expands statewide.

Legislators Take Minor Action On Claims And Aid

Local legislators moved on a small slate of measures. Rep George Lima filed a House claim for 150 to pay John Santos of Somerset for damages from a November 30 1955 traffic crash involving a trailer allegedly unhooked from a state owned truck near Metacom Ave. Sen Gladys Brightman and Sen Ellsworth Gale pushed a resolution to authorize 2500 to assist East Greenwich in fire prevention week, now before the Senate finance committee.
