Sea Lion Captured After Chaotic Cambridge Street Chase

A male California sea lion, about three years old, was chased through Cambridge streets by Pierce and Riley for over an hour. The crowd chased and ducked as the slippery animal broke a cellar window, dodged recapture, and finally was moved to the nearby Aquarium in South Boston.

Tenants Flee as Fire Destroys Park Square Tailor Shop

About 50 tenants in the Walton building at 26 Park Square and 186 Boylston Street were ordered out around 8:46 last night when a fourth floor tailor shop owned by J. Pearlis caught fire. Flames and smoke drove residents to the Park Square fire escape. 25 people were guided to safety by firemen. The blaze, confined to the tailor shop, caused around $800 in damage. The six story brick building houses offices. citizens were kept back by the Back Bay sergeant as investigators searched for the fire’s cause. Pearles had already left the building.
