Arbitration Commission Opens To Hear Street Car Wage Dispute
This morning at 10 oclock in Room 226 of the Suffolk County Court House the board of arbitration meets to hear the wage and working rule dispute between the Boston Street Carmen Union and the Boston Elevated Company. James J. Storrow chairs with James L. Richards and James Vahey as members. The union waives its nine in all hour law rights for now. The public sessions will cover wage scales, hours of labor for road and track staff, shop hours uniformity, abolition of piecework, and a minimum wage for extra men up to seven hours daily. The hearing will last no more than one day.

Alfred W. Cooley former assistant attorney general of the United States and a former New Mexico Supreme Court justice died of tuberculosis at his Topsfield summer home. The funeral will be held at Church of Our Saviour Brookline with burial in Long meadow.
