First real clue to Mona Lisa theft aid from Guiffrey

Paris reports that Jean Guiffrey former Louvre assistant curator and now Boston museum curator provided the first real clue to the Mona Lisa theft. Witness testifies United Shoe Machinery case

Robert P. Hazard of Gardiner Missouri testified in dissolution proceedings against United Shoe Machinery Company that he used several machines from other makers without objections from United. He cited Puritan eyesetting Goodyear and Freeman stitching machines and noted wage and production gains due to improved equipment. Hazard owned stock and said rebates and royalties favored efficiency and higher pay.
