Boston Typographical Union 13 nominated candidates in Faneuil Hall for the annual officers election on May 28. Incumbents were renominated with nominees listed for president vice president treasurer secretary assistant secretary sergeant at arms. The union also voted to aid flood sufferers and pursue affiliations, conventions, and home-supply buying efforts.

At a Boston and Maine Freight Handlers Union meeting the general committee reported satisfactory conferences with company officials regarding grievances. President Michael J. White announced that all grievances at Warren Bridge yards are settled by Agent W J Doherty and General Foreman John Fitzgerald, with harmony projected moving forward.

She explained acid and hot iron treatments destroy durability, urged checking pile roots and back color, noted old rugs used better dyes and tighter weaving, and described gilded Polish rugs as cheap in substance but rich in appearance designed for monarchs.
The Stationary Firemen's Union 243 executive board voted to strike at once against Boston Development and Sanitary Company if full union wage rates and working conditions are not granted for firemen at Spectacle Island and nearby plants. The union seeks an eight hour day for Dorchester Ice Company workers and says an agreement is overdue.

Seven autos and other vehicles being painted burned for 12000. Attorney General Herbert A Rice owned one car. The fire spread to a double tenement house before being checked and furniture dealer A Blanchet also reported water damage.

Admiral Belleu cites 163 opium smoking dives at Toulon and many more in Brest Cherbourg Lorient Rochefort and other ports. Opium is said to come from Indo China. An amendment imposing heavy penalties is planned, and the Minister of Marine will be questioned.
