Common Council Proceedings Bessemer June 5 1950 Meeting
A regular meeting of the Common Council of Bessemer was held June 5 1950 at 7 30 P M. Mayor Shaw presided with seven members present. The Finance Committee recommended paying numerous General Fund and utility bills, including labor payroll and miscellaneous vendors, after approval to issue warrants when funds are available. The Board of Public Works reported on insurance limits and bids for culverts and police car equipment, with the block company winning the culvert bid. The council authorized bid calls for a new police car and approved funding allocations and transfers related to the city’s light utility and water projects.
