Milk price up beef may drop
Grocery shoppers faced a 10 cent rise in milk this week while wholesale beef prices fell by about 30 percent. Industry leaders say lower costs may pass to consumers within two weeks, but beef prices are expected to rise after the new year due to anticipated shortages. Milk prices remain higher nationwide as dairy profits shrink and producers exit the business.
