New arguments due in PSB clause case
MONTPELIER UPI Chief Superior Judge William Hill will hear arguments Friday on a motion by the Vermont Welfare Rights Organization to issue a second injunction blocking utilities from raising rates under the purchased power and fuel adjustment clause. The Vermont Supreme Court overturned Hill's first injunction saying it applied to a minority group. Welfare Rights seeks to join counsel for the public in the clause case as a party and to broaden the injunction to all Vermont electric rate payers. Utilities have filed rate requests since Hill's ruling, with WRO pursuing a second injunction.

Walter Lippmann 84, famed American journalist and two time Pulitzer Prize winner, suffered a stroke at his New York residence and was rushed to New York Hospital in critical condition. Doctors described it as a cerebral vascular accident after a seizure at the Hotel Lowell. He had retired seven years ago and has been frail since a heart attack last year.

Donald Segretti testified before the Senate Watergate committee that Dwight Chapin encouraged a sabotage campaign against Democratic candidates. Deadly hydrogen sulfide cloud forces Alberta evacuations

Calley conviction to be reviewed by U S Military Court of Appeals
The My Lai murder case moves to the U S Court of Military Appeals a 90 minute hearing to decide if Lt William L Calley should have been convicted and sentenced to 20 years at hard labor for the 1968 massacre.
