Which endowment would you choose vision or hearing

He imagines a world of sights and museums versus a life of rich listening, noting how a blind person with keen hearing can enjoy voices, lectures, radio, and birdsong, and concludes he would choose blindness with perfect hearing.

Maine coast shrimp survey finds limited summer fishery potential
A six week survey by the Department of Sea and Shore Fisheries found no profitable summer shrimp beds from Isle of Shoals to Petit Manan Island. Commissioner Greenleaf said the best catches, 15 to 30 pounds per hour, came off Boone Island at 65 to 70 fathoms with 40 foot nets. He sees potential for a fall to spring fishery and plans winter surveying to map possible beds. Captain Carl Reed and Minot Little aided the effort along the Maine coast with help from William Harrington of the U.S. Bureau of Fisheries.
