Old Fort Popham Pier Story Highlights Local Wharf Hope
Bath resident recalls the wooden wharf at Fort Popham near the parade ground with a 20 foot water depth on the north side. An elderly witness warned against using the old pier as unsafe. The fort has granite blocks and usable stone, waste rock from blasting could fill a new wharf. A permanent Kennebec mouth landing seems feasible with labor and leadership.

Maine clams rebound as law tightens size rule
Mrs Sherman Morse of 70 High Street is staying at Bear Mountain after a Maine fisheries report by Sea and Shore Commissioner Arthur Greenleaf. He says strict enforcement of the two inch maximum shell diameter rule has led to more clams returned to flats and welcomed compliance by both diggers and dealers.
