A National Consumers Tax Commission survey places Bath Maine’s tax burden at 611 372 10 with per capita load 67 11. Maine residents contribute 53 514 184 annually in taxes to local state and national governments. More than 63 percent of that amount comes from hidden taxes in higher prices on food clothing fuel rent and other necessities.
