Bath contractor submits low bid for new armory
Hans Jensen of 670 Middle street Bath was the low bidder for the Bath armory project after bids opened Friday in the Adjutant General office by the State Armory Commission. His bid stood at 30040 dollars with a possible increase to 32100 if ledge removal is needed. Jensen formerly worked as a contractor in Grantwood New Jersey and has since built several small houses in Bath and Woolwich.

Brann Carries Bath and Sagadahoc in State Election
In Monday’s state election Republicans won across Maine. Governor Lewis O Barrows was re-elected by about 17 000 votes over Louis J Brann. Sagadahoc gave Brann a 150 vote lead while Bath narrowed his margin and elected one Democrat and one Republican to the legislature. Dominique J. Tardif and Justus H. Miller won for the county legislature. Local towns stayed wet or dry as noted.

In Sagadahoc County the biennial election brings Democrat Dominique J. Tardif as the lone winner in the county’s legislative quarter. He trails Republican Justus H. Miller by 42 votes, 1,683 to 1,725, with Bath’s losers Jennie S. Butler and Robert H. Haskell also on the slate. Joseph W. Larrabee of West Bath remains holdover, to represent Arrowsic Phippsburg Topsham West Bath and Woolwich. Larrabee’s Republican seat aligns with Samuel F. Dorrance of Richmond, winner from Bowdoin Bowdoinham Georgetown and Richmond. Morse and Rowe were defeated.
