Farmers Paying Back Loans to Government
From the Legislative Department of the American Farm Bureau Federation in Washington farmers continue to pay their bills regularly despite the low mood. They have repaid over one million dollars of drought relief loans early, with total government loans up to May 16, 1931 exceeding 47 million dollars. Agriculture Secretary Arthur M. Hyde calls the early repayments very gratifying and says they justify government aid to farmers during hard times.
