Mrs Charles J Wright Dies In Santa Fe Hospital

Barstow residents mourn the death of Mrs. Chas J Wright who died after an operation at Los Angeles Santa Fe hospital. She leaves husband Chas J Wright a Barstow switchman and four children Peggy eight and three younger boys. Funeral services were at St Marys Cathedral in Los Angeles with burial at Calvary Cemetery. The weight family shares two daughters and a son Bartes on furlough from the service attended no funeral. Mrs Lillie, wife of another switchman, cared for the children in Barstow.

Barstow 20-30 Club Meeting and Initiation

The Barstow 20-80 Club held a Tuesday evening meeting in the Beacon Cafe banquet room. Victor Ville guests Grey and Adams entertained with cowboy tunes on guitar, a Kangaroo court with Al Henderson as judge, Ivor Davies as prosecuting attorney, Dorse Fissel as defense attorney, and Doc Platt as clerk. Voting on Constitution Shapes Barstow Union High

On Monday November 3 students gathered in the assembly hall to vote on a carefully prepared Constitution. Beatrice Haan read each article, and the student body accepted the document. Floyd Carr led the meeting in President Marvin’s absence. Two days later By-Laws were similarly voted on and accepted. The Constitution will govern all ASB activities. First quarter ends Friday November 6 with report cards to follow Tuesday during homeroom. Armistice Day recess planned. Doris and Helen Perry, California girls, registered the same day Maxine and Burnea left for Oregon, reflecting the law of compensation.
