Hospital Reports Record Crop Losses at Athens State Hospital

The Athens State Hospital faces its poorest garden yields in history with crops about one third normal. Flooding from the Hocking River and prolonged rains damaged corn potatoes beans cabbage and fruit, with 400 bushels of early potatoes wiped out and another 500 rotted. Potatoes remain the key crop while alfalfa looks good and irrigation trials may boost late cabbage beans and tomatoes.
