Roy R. Saylor 46 dies at his home 145 Grosvenor Street Sunday morning after a year of illness. Born near Albany, he lived in Athens 25 years as shipping clerk for Stedman Packing Co and at Ohio University. Survived by widow, two children Paul F and Juanita Mae, two brothers Guy E and Ora V, and parents predeceased. Funeral Wednesday at 2 pm at Christian Church with burial West Union Street Cemetery. Higley Class and Deborah Class members to attend.
Authorities fear E H Friend of Marietta may have been murdered after two chests found near Lake Mary at Flagstaff contain letters from his daughter Kathleen. The discovery, made above cliffs overlooking the lake, follows clues from the family correspondence.

Everett Cox 23 of Eaton disarmed a bandit during a attempted robbery near Camden and fired after pulling a pistol from his car. The wounded robber and an accomplice fled after crashing their car, which police believe had been stolen in Dayton, Ohio.
Elliott Roosevelt son of the president and his bride arrived in Fort Worth Texas for a brief visit at the former home of Mrs Roosevelt. They were married Saturday night in Burlington Iowa and planned to continue to the West Coast with departure time not announced.

The drive targets towns over 2 500 population with 35 hour weeks and 14 dollar minimums for labor, 40 hour weeks and 18 dollar minimums for clerical workers.
A Labor Department report shows half the workers in the shirt sector earned under 7.40 a week in a busy period. Data on hours was incomplete but many workers, mostly women, worked more than 40 hours weekly with an average wage of 17 cents an hour in 14 factories across four states. The survey covered 120 plants in nine leading shirt states and is part of Secretary Frances Perkins drive to raise wages by public attention to industry abuses.
