New Bridge Under Way at Glouster
Glouster June 27 The High street bridge across Sunday Creek will soon be in place for traffic. Construction started Wednesday by a bridge firm representative. The bridge, washed out by the flood, will replace the old structure and include six foot wide footbridges on both sides. The town plans to open Madison street to Main street if commissioners approve a bridge. A committee of councilmen and citizens will visit Athens next month to press the bridge request. The council also contracted George Shaner to move the existing foot bridge for 80 dollars, relocating it near the Zanesville and Western trestle to allow room for a hose cart if needed.
