Also notes of local social visits and court happenings plus a candidate announcement for alderman from the first ward by Co W Cooper.
Baseball results show Atlanta defeating New Orleans 8 to 4. Little Rock routed Birmingham 10 to 0. Memphis outscored Nashville 15 to 8. Shreveport defeated Montgomery 1 to 0. Regular meals at Gilleland's Cafe priced at 35 cents.
DeWitt’s Little Early Risers advertised as a purgative helping biliousness without harsh effects. W H Howell of Houston endorses them for constipation and sick headache. Reported homicide at Fifth Street where Ismond Temand allegedly stabbed Leod with shears after an argument. Temand fled and is at large.

Classified snippet notes a student seeking additional earnings with a Stenographer and typewriter position outside college hours addressed to H. W. Moore at 616 Greene St in Augusta Georgia. Also lists rental rooms, coal sales, milk cows, a ladies afternoon venue The Merry Go Round, and multiple local ads for cider vinegar cheese and painting services.
The Southern Express Company has established a money order station at RE O McEvoy's drug store to serve residents of the up town section of Athens. People in that area may now obtain money orders at this station for convenience.
An advertisement claims Botanic Blood Balm can cure cancer of the face and nose and various skin ailments. It cites Mrs. Adams of Fredonia Alabama and Mrs. Guerney of Warrior Stand Alabama as cured, describes other conditions treated, and offers samples and bottles with directions. Also mentions Ely's Cream Balm for nasal catarrh and a 35 cent dinner offer at Gilleland's Cafe.
In Valdosta Georgia fear of the Calvin vagrancy law drives an exodus of black women with nearly fifty leaving on a single train. The city reports only a few arrests to date under the statute as residents wrestle with enforcement and fear. Separately in Raleigh North Carolina the Mechanics Dime Savings Bank opposes trusts and refuses to allow an American Tobacco Company sign on its wall, citing it could not be used to promote trust goods.
W S Ledbetter of Shreveport La praises DeWitt’s Witch Hazel Salve noting one box cured him after failures with other remedies. The product is advertised for blind bleeding itching and protruding piles and sold by all druggists.
Chicago records a suicide attempt by Mrs Mabel Lathey 24 of 2009 Wabash Avenue. She held a kerosene can above her head in a kitchen at Gil leland's Cafe and burned herself after striking a match. She lingered in St Luke's Hospital from morning until 3 PM when she died from extensive burns. It was her second suicide attempt within weeks after a prior carbolic acid attack.
