Artist Du Mond Works On Grauman Theater Curtain

Monrovia artist A F Du Mond is painting the drop curtain for Sid Grauman's new Grauman theater at Third street and Broadway Los Angeles. He uses a giant canvas with painters applying base color before his fine hand begins the production. The $1 million theater promises brilliant lighting and Spanish renaissance carvings with a domed interior glow from scintillators. Opening date uncertain but first pictures expected to begin next month.
