Sul Ross faculty members will teach or study away during summer terms. Dr. C. B. Casey will teach at Southern Methodist University replacing Dr. H. A. Trexler. Miss Stather Elliott will study at the University of Texas and travel. Dr. J. W. Harris will teach at New Mexico Normal University in Las Vegas. Miss Miltia Hill plans to study in New York and attend the World's Fair. Miss Annie Kate Ferguson will study at the University of Southern California. Mrs. Ruth Bryan Owen Rohde joins the Interior Department travel bureau at $1 a year to promote U S travel.

Woman Sells Birds To Buy Victorian Antiques

Mrs Parker of Sinton raises parrots love birds and other small birds to fund Victorian era furnishings. From eighteen birds she now owns 200 plus parrots and 35 to 40 love bird species. She shipped sixty four birds to St Louis with no losses. Ernest Parker keeps over 200 game birds including Mearns and Asiatic masked quail and various partridges and pheasants.

A Brewster County Texas sheriff sale lists lands seized under an execution issued May 1939 in the Latta Davenport suit against Fred Woolf and W A Scott. The description covers 8860 acres in multiple surveys and tracts, excluding several parcels, with the sale to occur at the courthouse door by public auction for cash on the first Tuesday of June 1939 between 10 AM and 4 PM.

Alabama to adopt new state seal with map design

After 71 years the state will replace the old seal adopted in 1868 deemed by the Daughters of the Confederacy as designed by a carpetbagger. The design features a map of Alabama and its principal rivers. The notice cites sheriff records from Brewster County Texas dated May 6, 1939.
