Alpine won all four games Tuesday with wins by both girls and boys teams. Tonight the girls play Fabens at Fabens and tomorrow the boys visit Alpine to face the Bucks in the high school gym. Student Council sponsors polio drive at the basketball game with per-point pledges from each class.

Alpine Police Log Records 51 Accidents in 1956
In 1956 Alpine city police handled 51 traffic accidents with $7615 property loss and 10 injuries, three of which required medical care. Twenty three crashes occurred on Highway 90, four on Sul Ross College Campus, two on Highland Village lot, totaling 6425 lost within city streets. Two crashes happened outside city limits with four injuries and $1760 loss. One stolen car was recovered and one arrest made. two abandoned cars were recovered. Visitors from San Antonio came to see Mrs. Austin’s family.

Hospital inspected by state engineer during Brewster County project
David Barker of Austin the engineer for the Texas Hospital Division of the State Health Dept inspected the Brewster County hospital project this week. The county has spent about $130 000 on the hospital to date and matching Federal money is expected when his report is issued.
