Fort Dodge Attorney Maurice O Conner Ends Life in Office
Maurice O Conner a prominent Fort Dodge attorney who had suffered years of insanity shot himself in the breast with a revolver in his office last Friday afternoon and died after lingering until about 4 a m. He was highly regarded, had a happy home and four children, but insanity worsened his condition leading to threats and fear among friends. He had been examined by Judge B J Salinger who deemed him sane on the insanity charge and placed bonds, but the mental illness prevailed. He did not harm others, a tragic outcome that raises concerns about confinement for his own safety and that of others.
