Seize Bogze in Dubuque raid targets city gambling
In Dubuque a four part raid by twenty men under Attorney General Havner seized hundreds of gallons of whisky and wines, over sixty slot machines, punch boards, gambling equipment, and bootlegger arrests. Prohibited goods valued at $5,000 were destroyed as operators consented to plead guilty. Several aided in the operation conducted under a new statute allowing sheriffs to assist.

O Connor Fatally Shoots Self After Divorce Petition
Maurice O Connor prominent Iowa attorney and former law partner of U S Senator William Kenyon died at a Fort Dodge hospital after a self inflicted gunshot wound. He had just dismissed a divorce petition against his wife and had called on family the night before. He had faced insanity charges and appealed to the state supreme court last fall and was released on bond.
