Haley urges domestic violence task force to act or people die
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley told more than 40 members of a domestic violence task force to confront the issue personally and act decisively. She emphasized changing the culture through responders rather than victims' perspectives and set four phased interim deadlines ahead of the group’s final report due December 31. The panel includes law enforcement, courts, churches, health care, and social services representatives. Survivor Elizabeth Gray described years of abuse and arrest patterns despite police reports.
