Ice storm costs recouped by Aiken County and city

Aiken County and the City of Aiken have recovered most expenses from last year’s February ice storm Winter Storm Pax. The disaster caused extensive debris with hundreds of trees down and over 50 000 residents without power. FEMA reimbursements totaling about 27 million offset roughly 33 million in storm recovery costs, with county administration noting progress on reimbursements.
