South Aiken Names New Head Football Coach
Christopher Hamilton, former Lexington High offensive line and strength coach, was chosen as South Aiken High School head football coach after JC district recommendation. He will also serve as physical education teacher and athletics administrator, replacing Jeremy West who resigned after a 2-9 season. West posted 9-46 record in five years, with no playoff berths since 2009. South Aiken last playoff win came in 2008.

After February 2014 historic ice storm, SCE&G and Aiken Electric Cooperative faced 60 000 plus outages. SCE&G cited losses approaching Hugo scale while Aiken Electric log 29 243 outages and 200 extra personnel to fix 340 damaged poles.
