Marshall Library Colorful Push for Cards and Amnesty Month
Marshall District Library declares September National Library Card Month with a card sign up drive and an amnesty week from September 19 to 24 2011. Patrons without cards are urged to visit to obtain one and overdue fines may be reduced or forgiven during the amnesty period.

Perrett House on Mansion Street A Century of Ownership
The Perrett house on Mansion Street has housed only three families since its 1855 construction by master carpenter Nathan Benedict. An 1868 map shows a two bay dwelling with a west lean-to, entrance on Kalamazoo Avenue, later sold to H C Haskell in 1866 and then to dry goods merchant George Perrett about a dozen years afterward.
