City Council caps electric rates at 8.5 cents
Marshall officials approved a plan with Michigan South Central Power Agency to cap electricity at 8.5 cents per kilowatt hour starting Sept 1. The measure aims to stabilize bills, reduce costs by 3 to 4 percent, and fund the stabilization reserve as debts from the Litchfield Endicott Plant decline, with full relief hoped by late 2010.
