Planning Commission rejects Oaklawn re zoning request
The Marshall City Planning Commission voted 4-3 against Oaklawn Hospital’s re zoning request for the property beside the Craig Kempf Funeral Home. The hospital proposed moving 223 N Madison St to create parking for the new Cardio Pulmonary and Women’s Health facility as Kempf opens a new building on Old 27. See story on page 32.

Marathon station owner back at business for now
Calhoun County Circuit Court Judge gave Marshall Marathon service station owner Azhar Khan until August 20 to pay back taxes and provide up to date insurance to avoid a court-ordered receiver. A previous receiver was placed and later removed after a court order was found not properly administered.
