A freight wreck on the Pennsylvania lines at Orrville delayed traffic for two hours. Three empty cars were smashed and burned after a collision of two trains. A merchandise car also burned. Brakeman J B Wale was injured while moving between cars and is reported critically injured. an Orrville boy nearby was said to be dying.
BR. E. Swing of the Cleveland News becomes editor of the Orrville Courier. He assumed charge Monday and is described as an enterprising newspaper man with knowledge of the business from its foundations to its end.
Mrs Katharine Sigler aged 66 died Sunday after weeks of liver stomach and bowels disease. She was a Methodist church member and beloved mother with neighbors' esteem. Survived by daughters Mrs Jennie Bigler Mrs Joca Cassiday Mrs Roy Carens Mrs Curtis Sigler of Oakland Cal on the way to Webster and Mrs Wm Matthes of Akron.
Edward Linn a Wooster clothing salesman died at his sister Anna Newkirk’s home after a sudden apoplexy at 8 pm Monday. He had Bright’s disease and throat trouble, remained on duty until Monday afternoon, and deteriorated rapidly. Born in Pittsburg, aged 44 years, 7 months, 8 days, he lived most of his life in Wooster. He was a druggist by training, active in Eagles and other clubs. Survived by his mother and brother Wm Linn Jr and sisters Anna Newkirk Enoima Gipbon Ella Runkle. Funeral Thursday at 2 pm from Mrs Newkirk’s home. Wooster Cemetery entombment.
Advices statewide indicate turkeys will be plentiful but costs may not rise much. Farmers have been culling birds to avoid high grain prices, and turkey supplies in western Ohio appear large despite contrary reports. Oysters sit at 85 cents per quart, cranberries and other trimmings available. overall dinner could be cheaper than last year with prices near 16 to 20 cents per pound for turkeys or similar.

Eggs and lard upward, mutton lamb veal decline. demand weakens. Fruits unchanged, vegetables declined. overall prices easing for urban shoppers.
C W Mary, once Wooster, who quit a Columbus state post, plans a California trip next week to arrange shipment to Caps Colony of a large colony of inseds claimed to be the envoy of the coddling moth. The mission aims to curb damage to South African orchards. his new field promises to be highly active in entomology.
A crowded Pennsylvania depot morning train forced frantic dash across the tracks. A mother and eight year old girl slipped on a slippery plank, barely saved by platform workers as a thunderous train passed moments later.
Last summer R L Todd of the university released a fine pictorial book of university buildings and Wooster scenes. A second edition has just been issued with nearly all content from the first plus many new views, including two color illustrations, a country club panorama, Reddick's dam, and other local sites. The project earns praise for the photographer’s and pressman’s craft, with demand high as copies of the first edition sold quickly.
October postal receipts at Wooster show a fall of about £200 from October 1906. Officials expect the October through December quarter to exceed last year’s, noting no single month caused the drop and that late mailing of goods previously declined. Deputy Postmaster Shamp cautions against counting on any one month for future activity.
In view of the loss by death of Sister Hannah Kinkler of Wooster Temple No. 63 the Pythian Sisters record a tribute of love and esteem. She departed Oct 24 1907 and our sympathy goes to her family with consolation to divine mercy.
Jay Martin, once Wooster manager of Western Union, appears in connection with the trouble between the company and its telegraph staff in Cleveland. The case centers on labor unrest and the ensuing disputes. Local officials expect further developments this week.
Rev Frank Heilman delivered two sermons on Sunday at the Lutheran church. The morning sermon focused on Martin Luther and Lutherans, asserting Luther’s role in promoting individual thought and justification by faith. The evening continuation expanded on Luther and Protestant foundations. The sermons drew quotations on Germany’s education and literacy, noting Luther’s influence, and drew a large attentive audience.

Judge Nicholsa presided with the panel awaiting further instructions. Trials were scheduled for Wednesday November 18 with cases Stoner versus Grob Switzer versus Howey and Friday November 15 Peters versus Bia O railroad, followed by Monday names Relder Ai.
