A con artist pretends to be an agent for a soldiers paper in Toledo to swindle veterans. H. D. Van Gampen and J. B. Switzer from near Akron have been hired by an eastern party of prospectors for a year to perform deep drilling at promising sites.

Fire crews responded to box 86 on Palmer street and Pitts burg avenue for an overturned lamp that sparked a small blaze at a wedding in Little Italy. Firefighters and guests, including women with carpets, quelled the flames before major damage. several coats burned during containment.
A dog seen Saturday and Sunday in Bloomington showed clear signs of hydrophobia and attempted to bite people. Owner Will Wood reported the case to Marshal Latimer and shot the animal with ebells, burying the carcass after confirmation of rabies to protect other animals and the community.
Dally J B Snyder of Burbank dies at 82 from a stroke after weeks of illness. Born Oct 8 1833 in Congress Township to George Snyder he married Jane Barns Oct 22 1824 and left eight children including Frank Snyder Mrs Frank Gearhart and James E Snyder. William Scott about 62 dies of apoplexy at his Applecreek mill after heart disease. Funeral held Sunday from the Methodist church drawing a large crowd.
