Mrs Sophia Leiner died at her Wooster area home after a brief illness. She was 76 and married to George Leiner about 60 years ago, survived by three sons and three daughters. The farm residence of George Caskey, 53g miles north of Wooster, Wayne township, nine rooms, and back buildings were destroyed by fire at noon Thursday. The family began dinner when a neighbor saw the blaze. The south end burned and a strong south wind spread the flames. Most contents were saved only if movable. The large barn stood close but was saved after holes burned in the roof. Caskey’s loss is estimated at not less than $2,500 with $1,600 insurance in Ohio Farmer's Co. J W Smith, Wooster, suffered minor eyebrow singeing while visiting to build an outdoor fireplace.

Will of Kinney probated. admins appointed. bonds and appraisers named. News item also reports Glanche Ellis and John Hoover winning medals at a Ralston physical culture event in Halston.

The audience enjoyed a first show featuring Manchester the trading comedian and Ferguson Brothers aged 10 and 6 performing remarkable acts. A libel lawsuit filed by Jacy L Jeffords former Washington attorney against D G Newton editor of the Holmes County Farmer began in Holmes County Common Pleas Court before Judge Maxwell in Millersburg. Attorneys for both sides clashed over a continuance after a request to amend the defense, leaving the case temporarily unresolved. The Farmer’s camp warned of damaging evidence and a prior claim involving a local resident, while witnesses and social notes from Mohican and Millersburg reflect a tense local scene.
