A wedding took place on Tuesday July 6 at noon at the home of Irvin Ward Medina Ohio. Miss Katie Ward granddaughter of Rev M T Ward married Ossian S Myers of Lattasburg Ohio. Rev M T Ward assisted by Revs H L Stevens Elyria and G A Reeder Elyria conducted the ceremony. Ethel Burdoin sang the wedding hymn and guests dined on sweet peas smilax nasturtiums pansies and other flowers. The bride wore a white Swiss dress with lace. The groom is principal of Bloomington College Tennessee and they planned to live in Bloomington after a Nashville stop. Numerous presents were given.
Wooster moves toward securing the Old Dominion Canning and Preserving Co with a 25000 share stock drive. A temporary organization was formed chaired by Frank A Warner, outlining land purchase, building plans, railroad access, and a 40 day construction schedule aiming for a September 1st opening and first production this season. Local leaders and merchants joined a canvass to raise the remaining funds while others offered cash subscriptions.

Wayne County Common Pleas adjourns sine die after reviewing the year ending July 1, 1898. Clerk Musselman’s report shows 865 total cases, 345 disposed, 195 court days, and detailed breakdowns of divorces, criminal convictions, judgments, and final decrees across Judges Dowell Wolfe Maxwell and Taggart.
Wooster University graduate Miss Elizabeth Speer, now a renowned pianist, has attracted wide praise in the West. Born in Wooster, she studied in Berlin with Heinrich Barth and returns to concertize, with strong prospects for future performances and solid support from leading musical societies.
A Chester township man, Mowery, suffered a deep leg wound when a pitchfork left in hay was pulled into a mow by a horse. The fork pierced the calf for about four inches and exited through the leg, an injury expected to require long healing. The sixty six year old Jobn Maurer senior celebrated at his home two east of Wooster on a Wednesday. Neighbors and family attended a full day of fellowship with a bountiful dinner and baskets of leftovers. Eulogies and songs followed, Pennsylvanian Appleton spoke, and a English shepherd dog and gold headed cane were gifts. The gathering ended with prayer and the hymn God be with you till we meet again.

The deceased man who killed himself between Dalton and North Lawrence has been identified as George Wheeler, 50, of Canton. Edward and John Wheeler of Alliance said their brother left Canton for Massillon last Saturday, arousing their fears. Wheeler lived in Canton, spent years in Nevada, and recently faced financial losses. he had no family.

The death of Priscilla Hanna, aged two, occurred Friday at Wayne County Infirmary after admission in 182 from Saltcreek township. Funeral set for Sunday in Fredericksburg. Also, Mrs George Wynn eldest daughter of the late Ethan A town died Thursday at her Cleveland home from lung disease. Remains conveyed to Wooster for interment in Wooster cemetery.
