J Fredricks Co announces a July clearance featuring silk and dress fabrics. Prices include 19 inch silks at 29c and 39c, 36 inch black taffeta at 88c per yard, and wide silk specials up to 89c. A 20 percent discount applies to all wool dress goods during the sale.
James Dillon, a Brooklyn, New York man, was severely injured Saturday night on the Wabash tracks at Orrville, presumed to have fallen from a freight car. He underwent knee amputation and head wounds, then was moved to Wooster infirmary. Dillon and companion George Babney, also from Brooklyn, had been selling jewelry and were en route to Canton to secure stock, with Norwalk as their recent HQ. Babney agreed to aid Dillon during recovery.
County commissioners approved payments totaling for bridge plank hauling and planking, culvert pipe, printing, and supplies. Items include Wm Culler hauling 3.50, MacCarlin bridge work 39.81, Lewis Culvert Co pipes 146.? and 84.24, Shreve News printing 4.75, Barrett Bros bond blanks 0.50, plus several other small amounts to various contractors and firms.
Miss Laura Donley daughter of George Donley was walking to work with her father after a night at home. She searched the yards at the Penney yanik iolans eee for the cash but could not locate it.
The funeral for Bwudi o Zarbazewo, a Wooster resident of Italian heritage, drew a very large attendance at St Marys Catholic Church and St Marys cemetery. The service was led by Father Angly and followed by a long funeral cortege. Reports misidentified Peter Zatengo as a death by own action, which he denies, stating he suffered a fainting spell from heart trouble after hearing of his father’s death. He plans legal action against the papers for the incorrect report.
July 2 activities include children's exercises at the Evangelical church next Sunday. Dr J W Buchanan attended the funeral of Ben Zercher with family in Stark. Ben Zercher, born in Lancaster county, died at age twenty three months and 23 days, leaving a sister and several children. The community offers sympathy to the bereaved as services drew many relatives and friends. A town forest event at the Methodist church is planned for Saturday evening July 6. Mary Metcalf’s surprise party gathered about 25 young friends with dainty refreshments during the Fourth of July week preparations.

Sewer committee report on two Walnut Street petitions noted deep sewer limits, urged a city wide right of way south from Muberry for an improved sewer, while owners balked at costs. City legal matters included Donley alley dispute and a nuisance complaint about Rev Love. An ordinance moved funds transfer for sewering High Street Nold Avenue Cushman Streets. Council voted to recess to Friday evening July for budget reviews and further action.

A section hand found 80 year old Charles Yeakley dead near Warwick along Cleveland Akron and Columbus tracks. Coroner’s inquest deemed unnecessary after discovering $4 in gold, $10 in pocket, and evidence of accidental death. Relatives took the body to his parents' home as funeral arrangements began.

Edmund Stuart son of Dr Tunis Newkirk died June 24 in Lincoln Illinois at age 34. He was a nephew of Mrs. Liggett and resided on North Market Street.
Samuel Troxel about 73 a farmer of Chester township near Lattasburg died Sunday after years of illness. The funeral will be held at his residence at 2 p.m. today.

A large audience attended Sunday evening Children’s Day exercises at the Methodist church. The program featured young performers trained under Miss Jennie Warner with music by the choir directed by Mr Green. A girls drill with pennants, several recitations, solos, and an address by the pastor highlighted the event. Rev Shellenberger delivered a memorial address to old soldiers and patriotic groups, with music by the church choir and Wooster Junior Orchestra.
