Skirts on special, jackets 22 inches $1.98, coats 27 inches $3, 42-inch coats half price. Newmarkets and children's cloaks at half-price.
Embroideries and edgings offered with extra values. Corsets priced at 75 cents, bleached long cloth at 9 cents per yard. All wool carpet remnants and Brussels remnants advertised as very cheap. Inlaid linoleum available at 1 dollar per square yard.

Groton Massachusetts February 11 Theodore Roosevelt Jr eldest son of President Roosevelt is seriously ill with double pneumonia. A statement by George B Cortelyou secretary to the president after examination by Dr Alexander Lambert says recovery remains uncertain. The President and Mrs Roosevelt spent a long anxious day at the infirmary awaiting the crisis.
London February 11 Sir Thomas Lipton chooses an American skipper and crew for the Shamrock II as he tests the American hand in the Cup challenge after noting the Columbia was better handled in last year’s cup races. If trials succeed, a second series against Shamrock III will follow with United States involvement.
General Lord Kitchener reports a liveliest week with high Boer and British losses. Boer casualties total 69 killed 17 wounded 57 surrendered 674 captured. British losses include 2 officers 11 men killed and 18 wounded. 60 donkey wagons seized and burnt. 489 rifles and equipment captured. Dubuque Iowa February 11 Dr Kegler a prominent physician who established the cancer sanitarium here expired after a chase of a block for a streetcar. Death was due to heart failure from which he had not been previously troubled. Two immigrants were involved in the incident unchanged in the report.
Paterson New Jersey reports a hopeful mood as Mayor Hinchiiffe directs relief efforts after a disastrous blaze. Funds and securities valued at about 3.9 million were recovered from two vaults under the First National Bank ruins.
