More Permits Due For Aoudad Hunters
Aoudad sheep permits for landowners in Palo Duro Canyon will rise about 23 percent from 93 last season to 116 this year. Texas Parks and Wildlife says the wild sheep, native to Africa, are hard to hunt with long ascents and mirror hard climbs. Since 1957 releases, the herd has grown from 44 to about 200, with landowner permits and a steady hunt history noted by biologists and wardens.
