Ballinger Mother of Local Resident Dies at 95
Mrs. Nancie E. Crockett Hodges Sr., 95, died Wednesday night at Ballinger Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Lampasas County and lived in Lampasas, Winters, Levelland, and Ballinger. Survived by her husband W. B. Hodges and three sons, three daughters, 22 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Funeral 4 p.m. Friday at First Methodist Church Ballinger with Rev. Piez Todd officiating. Burial in Northview Cemetery, Winters.

Runnels County School Food Service Association Forms in Winters
Twenty seven members met in Winters for the first Runnels County School Food Service Association session. Yearbooks were handed out as Margie Routh spoke on summer workshops in Fort Stockton and San Marcos, and Christine Wade reviewed the San Antonio convention. Officers were Hertha Smith president Margarite Russell vice president Alma Matteson secretary treasurer Anna Lene Hoelscher reporter Alene McCorstin Lunch Week chair. Visitor Dorothy Ferry, Vernon cafeterias director, attended. Next meeting set for Miles on November 15.
