Residents and Visitors Share Weekend at Local Homes

Last week many relatives and friends gathered in Abi line and surrounding towns. Notables include Mrs Minnie Williams and sisters Sadie Humphrey Vernie Edwards and Tennie Puckett plus Bob Williams. J E Virden celebrated his 87th birthday with a dinner. a Shady Oaks Lodge resident Mrs W T Holder turned 82 with family at her home. Ed Dean and Lanora welcomed Bill Dean from Ft Worth. Phyllis O Dell broke her arm. J W Lindsey Virginia Hensley Leora Foster and others visited. the Methodist meeting closed after a four day session with Saturday refreshments.

Ira M. McNeill 73 died 9 20 am Monday at Hendrick Memorial Hospital Abilene after six weeks illness. Funeral 3 pm Wednesday at Main Street Church of Christ with Glenn Gray and Walt Cave officiating. Burial Lakeview Cemetery Spill Funeral Home. Survived by wife Birtie Belle Stevenson three sons Dan Coy John one brother five sisters ten grandchildren and more. Pallbearers named.

M H Williams Died In Nursing Home In Winters Region

Marion Howard Williams 87, a noted Winters area farmer, died Thursday at 12 30 p m in Merrill Nursing Home after months of illness. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery. Born Sept 17 1881 in Bell County he moved to Runnels County in 1900. Survived by two sons Rufus and Marion H Jr two daughters Annie Williams and Mrs Forrest Carter a daughter in law and ten grandchildren seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers listed.

WSCS Meeting At Church On Tuesday

The Woman's Society of Christian Service of the First United Methodist Church met Tuesday at 9 30 a m for a short business session and to begin a new study. Mrs John Schaffrina presided as the meeting opened with a song sung by Mrs M L Dobbins and scripture read by Mrs E H Baker. A skit was presented by several members and a prayer hymn was led.
