Tax Rebates Do Not Affect Food Stamp Eligibility
The USDA issued a telegram to states stating that income tax rebates and special payments from the Tax Reduction Act of 1975 will not count as income or resources for federal assistance programs. The act provides 1974 tax refunds and a $50 SSI, Social Security, and railroad retirement payment.
