The Winters Enterprise announces corrections upon due notice to the editor. The paper is entered at the Winters post office as second class matter, under publisher Richard C. Thomas.
Debora Kay Smith and Robert James Moore plan a May 24 wedding at Garden and Arts Center in Lubbock. Miss Smith, daughter of L H Smith, is Monterrey High and Texas Tech graduate employed by the School of Engineering. Moore, son of Ellis Moore, is a Winters High and Texas Tech graduate teaching as a graduate student and teaching assistant.
The Dale Sewing Club met Tuesday afternoon at Mrs. E. E. Thormeyer’s home. Quilt blocks were pieced. Attendees included Verge Fisher, I. W. Rogers, Lloyd Compton, Raymond Knight, Reese Jones, Carl Baldwin, Jack Whittenberg, and E. E. Thormeyer. Next meeting will be with Mrs. Marvin Traylor. Mr. and Mrs. Lammie Presley of Amherst visited local members.
Dr Judson Prince 63 of Fort Worth died at 12 45 am March 31 in Kent Nursing Home Fort Worth after a long illness Funeral services were held at Riverside Baptist Church Fort Worth at 4 pm Wednesday Burial was in a Fort Worth cemetery Prince born August 7 1911 in Portia Arkansas later lived in Chapman Ranch Texas He married Lucille Neely in Winters December 21 1932 while at Howard Payne College He earned a bachelor degree in 1934 and received a Doctor of Divinity from Howard Payne He served as pastor at Rochelle First Baptist Hamilton Cisco Odessa Riverside and helped organize Oakhurst and Yeca Avenue Baptist churches in Fort Worth He retired in 1967 due to ill health He is survived by his wife two sons Judson Prince Jr Houston and Joe Prince Northfield four grandchildren two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Virgie Dunn visited Edwin Voss at Rio Concho Senior Citizens in San Angelo. Friends ask letters to 910 Rio Concho Drive. Guests with Mrs Wheat included the W.F. Matthews family and Gene Wheat’s group from Winters, plus David Bryan and Kay Black. Henry Elmer King and Mrs Memry Hunter are patients at North Runnels Hospital. The Day’s visitors included Kay Black and Ballinger company, Odessa families, Hall family, Abilene resident Miss Waler, and Melva Rogers.
Mrs Wallie Gore 74 former Blackwell resident died March 26 in Durango Colorado after a short illness. Survived by three sons William Lee Collins Willard Gore Richard Gore all of Durango, three brothers three sisters and several grandchildren. Born February 14 1901 in Blackwell she married Tom Gore in 1934 and lived in Farmington NM before moving to Durango in 1960. Funeral held in Durango March 28 1975. Community notices include church meetings visits and local events with residents of Blackwell Fort Hood Snyder Sterling City and surrounding areas noted.
Robert Kerchman 56 of Odessa was killed when his pickup left Tower Road near Midland and rolled. Services held in San Angelo with burial at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Survived by wife Delores Dutmore and multiple children. WWII veteran and former A.W. Thompson Drilling employee. Also notes Airman Richard Calcote of Winters graduation from aircraft support equipment repair course.
