Audio visual program boosts Wimberley school gains
The Wimberley school’s intensified reading and later writing spelling arithmet ic programs along with a robust audio visual initiative began in 1963. A center for materials and in service includes two 35 mm machines, an opaque projector, laminating and a thermo fax setup. The district helped with costs while PTA contributions funded much of the equipment. The school was named a UT pilot site and later featured in The Instructor magazine. Local leaders, SWTSC support, and KLRN TV enhanced teaching with in class projections and modern media. The community pride is strong with high college placement and alumni returning to visit and support.
