At the Oct. 8 Poth ISD meeting Superintendent Scott Caloss presented two options for a stand-alone science complex costing 1.6 to 2.1 million dollars while a new high school was deemed too costly. Trustees urged building only the science facility now with future expansion on the same site. The board also reviewed AYP shortfalls and Race To The Top grant participation with Edgewood ISD leading a 10-school consortium aiming for 40 million dollars over four years.
