Floresville district facility tour informs future needs study
Floresville Independent School District Facilities Committee toured Floresville Middle School on December 11 to gather information for district facility planning. The middle school houses 564 seventh and eighth graders with aging infrastructure prompting talk of major electrical upgrades and classroom needs.

City offices observe Christmas closures
The City of Floresville Electric Light and Power System closes Monday and Tuesday December 25 and 26 for Christmas. The Wilson County News office closes December 25. Flieller Insurance Agency also closes December 26. The White House Cafe closes December 25 through January 4 and reopens January 5 at 5 p.m.

Four hospitalized after Floresville accident on US 181
Four Floresville residents were airlifted or treated after a two car crash at US 181 and C Street on December 13. Darlene Herrera, 39, drove to Wilson Memorial Hospital for her infant's breathing issues when her Geo Tracker ran a red light and collided with Michelle Montanio's Pontiac Bonneville. Lydia Herrera, Destiny Orozco, and Brandie Herrera were passengers. Destiny remained hospitalized briefly. Montanio and her 1 year old daughter Ashley were treated and released. Lydia and Destiny were flown to University Hospital.
