Mrs James Ramey and daughter Maim and Mr Short called at C J Cooks Sunday evening. The girl at the Emmons home became a boy since last writing. Mrs James Helland called at the Emmons home Sunday. Miss Louise Helland is spending a couple of weeks at home. Marcus Johnson was a county seat visitor Monday. The new Danish church adds a great improvement to our country and was dedicated Sunday. A large crowd was present. We are sorry to learn that Mrs Cooper is still on the sick list. Henry Harrison and the Garretson brothers drove to the timber Sunday and brought home bushels of June berries.

Surprise quilting bee marks season social in Marton
The latest social event was a surprise quilting bee at Mrs. August Hoffer last Friday with twenty four attendees creating pretty comforters. A mid afternoon luncheon was served. Willis ton visitors included Judson R Osborn Roy Dillree Earl Smith and Chas Wilder. Earnest Lares sold his machinery and horses to Mr. Winger of Gladys and will move to the Twin Cities. Winger also rents the farm land and will take possession soon. Mrs. Wolstad visited Mrs. G Loken, and Mrs. Roy Dillree and son Willard Leroy visited friends. Oscar Hovind will teach the Free map school and Don Wilder the Twin Lake school. Farm loans offered by N D Sudonese, Williston.

Lee Statue Debate Ends. GA R Postpones Pension Plan
Atlantic City Sept 24 After a three hour session the national encampment of the G A R postponed action on the Lee statue in Statuary Hall Washington. The vote 138 to 102 opposed a pension of $1 a day for Civil War Union veterans while endorsing the McCumber bill for widows pensions.

Alpine Flight Fails After Narrow Alpine Crossing
American aviator Chavez attempted a Swiss to Milan flight for a $20 000 prize but was wrecked near Domodossola Italy. He and fellow flyer Weymann abandoned the contest after the accident leaving Chavez gravely injured with both legs broken and the left thigh fractured.
