Mr. and Mrs. Brownell returned from a Grinnell country visit where they met W. H. Tracy and family. Tracy, a leading local farmer, gifted beets, carrots, and cabbages from his garden. A cabbage head weighed 20 pounds and another 18 pounds.
George Cuddie, a north end divisionist, appeared in the city on the 15th and filed a petition with the county commissioners seeking a vote on county division. The petition was granted and the division question will appear on fall ballots.
The B and T Club was entertained by Mrs. C Ellithrope with a Geography of Greece talk by Mrs. Brownell and current events by Mrs. Brownson. Delegates Mrs. L B Dochterman and Mrs. C Ellithrope were chosen to attend the Federation meeting in Minot on October seventh eighth and ninth. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Elli thrope at close of the afternoon.
On September 20 at high noon, Reuben W. Young and Florence N. Trumbo wed at the Youngs home four miles west of town amid happy greetings.
A wedding with friends in attendance featured a floral wreath and traditional vows officiated by Rev. P. J. Henness. The reception offered a lavish meal as congratulations poured in for the newlyweds including Otto G. Smith and Miss Mary E. Krieger of Frazee Minnesota and Rudolph A. Rieder and Miss Myrtle L. Hamilton from Garden Valley. The couples plan to reside on Mr. Rieder’s claim and host many friends.
Attorney General McCue names A. J. Bessie of this city to assist in the State against Oscar Erickson who shot J. C. Hanley in McKenzie county. Erickson was bound over to District court after a Schafer preliminary examination. Bessie also to aid enforcement of the prohibition law.
Free lectures by Ruby Wheeler the Purity Evangelist arrive in the city this Sunday. She will lecture at the M. E. church at 10 30 AM and at Gates Opera House at 8 PM with special music. The talks are free and open to all, with high recommendations on her speaking.
The Ladies Aid of the Congregational church will serve a chicken pie supper next Tuesday evening September 29 in the I.C.O.F. banquet hall. Attendees are urged to bring a good appetite and a full pocketbook.

Osmund A Jackson and Julia H Jackson mortgaged property to Frank Koester, later assigned to Swan Anderson, describing SE quarter of Section 18, Township 182, Range 97, 160 acres. Sale to satisfy $333.74 due plus costs. Also included is a Restoration of Public Lands notice for irrigation lands near Buford Trenton project with September and October 1908 conditions and a land office price list and a hosiery ad from Bruegger Mercantile Co.
