Fatal Shooting in McKenzie County
A feud over cattle ownership ended in McKenzie County last Monday noon when Oscar Erickson shot J. C. Hanley, killing him instantly. Erickson surrendered to authorities after the shooting, which followed a dispute that began years earlier. Hanley’s family and associates witnessed the events and his body was sent to St. Paul for burial. his widow and three children survive.
