Deaf Mutes Wed In Silence In Bloomington
Miss Emma Grethy of Bloomington married Albert E Olson of Galesburg in a silent ceremony. Both deaf and mute, they were educated at the state college for the deaf and dumb in Jacksonville and later became local notables. The service was conducted by a deaf minister in sign language with hundreds of attendees from both towns.
