Land officials publish new Department of the Interior ruling on homestead commutation proofs. Starting November 1 1907 entries must show fourteen months actual residence for new entries while older rules allow six months constructive residence plus eight months actual. David R. Pierce of Kenmare died last Friday after a two month illness from heart failure with complications. He was about 58 and had lived in the state 25 years, moving from Fargo eight years ago.
